A guide to your options

Lightweight board for clear, practical signage

Foam PVC is a lightweight rigid board that can be cut into panels, letters and shapes. It is widely associated with names such as Foamex and is particularly useful for indoor branding, temporary displays and promotional signage. Suitable external applications can also be considered.

Materials & construction

Black and white foam PVC are available in a choice of thicknesses. The thickness and support should be selected around the panel size, fixing positions and installation environment. The finish can then be coordinated with applied graphics or the intended lettering design.

Choose the finish that fits

Information panels

A straightforward base for directions, notices and branded graphics.

Cut lettering

Dimensional text and logos for display and interior branding.

Temporary displays

A practical board option for short-term campaigns and events.

Plan the details

Fine details need room for the router cutter. For small letters, acrylic may give a cleaner result. Tell us if the sign will be outside, exposed to heat or frequently handled so the thickness, fixing and material choice can be assessed.

Your questions, answered

Is foam PVC a soft foam?

No. It is a rigid board used for signs and displays, despite the word foam in its name.

Can it be used outside?

Foam PVC can be specified for indoor and suitable exterior use. We will check the panel size, exposure and support for your site.

Is it suitable for very small lettering?

Small letters and narrow gaps can be limited by the cutting tool. Acrylic may be preferable for intricate or small designs.
