A built-up letter has a metal face and shaped side returns, creating a three-dimensional body. Compared with flat-cut lettering, the additional depth changes its silhouette, reflections and shadow. Letter proportions and viewing distance help determine the most effective design.

How do built-up and flat-cut letters differ?
Built-up letters have side returns that create depth. Flat-cut letters are cut from sheet and have a much slimmer profile.
Can the depth be chosen?
The return depth is agreed around the available construction, artwork and desired appearance.
Can you provide a halo-lit version?
